I really don't remember much of The Old Man and the Sea besides what I felt reading it and because I was 14 and slightly unbalanced at the time (like most fourteen year old girls haha) I wouldn't want to make you biased against the book because of my experience. But I wouldn't recommend starting with The Old Man and the Sea, I've read a few reviews about it and it seems it is not a popular book, even among Hemingway fans.

I promise you will love A Moveable Feast, it is really a beautiful book.Melissa Vizcarrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17335640822153174745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2892633482640405565.post-17161712689573929922013-02-02T09:50:27.905-05:002013-02-02T09:50:27.905-05:00Lately it seems as though Hemingway is all over th...Lately it seems as though Hemingway is all over the blogosphere, smirking every time I add yet another book of his to my TBR list. I was going to start with The Old Man and the Sea, but this review has changed my mind. Excellent job. :)Carohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12456284399025708010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2892633482640405565.post-52031203636153773172013-02-01T11:06:31.657-05:002013-02-01T11:06:31.657-05:00I found that the only way I could write something ...I found that the only way I could write something about this book was from the perspective of the impact it had on me. Sometimes that happens I guess, specially with books that move us so much or that are particularly special to us. I think the same thing would happen to me if I reviewed Cortázar. :)Melissa Vizcarrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17335640822153174745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2892633482640405565.post-76766335106063316572013-02-01T06:26:43.200-05:002013-02-01T06:26:43.200-05:00I read this book at the end of December and also l...I read this book at the end of December and also loved it. Maybe it was because I share with him this strange feeling for Paris – what I'd give to have a glimpse of what is was during the 20's. But it was not only because of the world he described (although I was left in awe while reading all his meetings with Gertrude Stein, Fitzgerald or Ford Madox Ford) but also how his afterthoughts about it... I don't know, I guess I have the same problem as you :)Teresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07985038421566769952noreply@blogger.com
